Beaumont Bio

1995 bay, 16.2hh (Bio [TB] x Noble Mell [TB])

Beaumont Bio was an outstanding individual combining presence, temperament, movement and athletic ability, which we now see in his progeny. His progeny combine the athletic ability of the thoroughbred with the cool, calm nature of the Clydesdale, as we ran this stallion with our half and quarter draught Clydesdale mares. Beaumont Bio was breed by Brian & Lorraine Anderton at White Robe Lodge, Mosgiel, Otago. We purchased Beaumont Bio in 1997 and he was used as a breeding stallion at Beaumont Station for 10 years. A number of his daughters have been retained and now form part of our foundation broodmare heard, click the following link to view our Broodmares.

Beaumont Bio‘s dam, Noble Mell, is by Noble Bijou who is well known in the New Zealand racing industry. Noble Bijou was the winner of ten champion sire titles, including five New Zealand General Sire premierships, and the only stallion to become New Zealand’s champion sire and champion broodmare sire in the same season (1992-1993). Noble Bijou made a serious contribution to Australasian racing as the sire of the kind of top-class, fast staying horses for which New Zealand has long been celebrated. Noble Bijou never raced but he more than redeemed himself at stud and earned the permanent gratitude of New Zealand breeders.
